Tegniese vakke

Leerders mag slegs EEN tegniese vak neem.

Dit moet saam met Wiskunde/ Ing(tegniese) Wiskunde en Fisiese Wetenskap/ Ing(tegniese) Wetenskap geneem word.

Verder moet dit saam met IGO geneem word, So ‘n leerder sal dus vir N2 kwalifiseer na matriek en kan dus direk met N3 aangaan.

Rekeningkunde

Dit moet in kombinasie met Wiskunde geneem word en mag nie saam met Wiskundige Geletterdheid geneem word nie.

Ingenieurswese

Leerder moet gewone Wiskunde en Fisiese Wetenskap neem.

Medies

Leerder moet gewone Wiskunde, Fisiese Wetenskap en Lewenswetenskap neem vir enige mediese of medies-verwante rigting bv fisioterapie,arbeidsterapie ens.

Tweetalige klasse

Die volgende vakke word as tweetalige klasse aangebied:

  • Motorwerk
  • Metaalwerk en sweis
  • Siviele dienste
  • Boukonstruksie
  • Elektries
  • Elektronies
  • Verbruikerstudie
  • Ontwerp
  • Toerisme
  • IGO (Tegniese Tekene)
  • Ingenieurswetenskap
  • Ingenieurswiskunde
  • RTT (Rekenaartoepassings tegnologie)

Daar is nie genoeg leerders wat hierdie vakke wil neem dat dit in Afrikaans en Engels apart aangebied kan word nie. Die klasse sal dan te klein wees en die vak sal dus nie aangebied kan word nie. Minimum per klas is 10.

University exemption

The learner must have at least 50% for 4 of the following exemption subjects.

Such subjects are:

  • Mathematics
  • Physical Science
  • Geography
  • Accounting
  • Business studies
  • EGD (technical drawing)
  • Life Science
  • Consumer studies
  • Electronics
  • CAT and math literacy are accepted only at certain universities and then only for certain courses. Make sure at the specific university. (www.pacecareers.co.za/www.gostudy.net/www.robbies.co.za/akademie)

Technical subjects

Learners are only allowed to take ONE technical subject.

It has to be taken in conjunction with Maths/ Eng(technical) Maths and Physical Sciences/ Eng(technical) sciences.

Furthermore, it has to be taken with EGD. These learners will then have  a N2 after leaving matric and can continue with N3 directly after school.

Accounting

It has to be taken in conjunction with Mathematics and may not be taken with Mathematical Literacy

Engineering

A learner must take normal Maths and Physical Science.

Medicine

The learner must take normal Maths, Physical Science and Life science for any medicine, or any medical-related study field e.g. physiotherapy, occupational therapy, etc.

Bilingual classes

The following subjects will be presented as bilingual classes:

  • Motor mechanics
  • Metals and Welding
  • Civil services
  • Building construction
  • Electrical Technology
  • Electronic Technology
  • Consumer studies
  • Design
  • Tourism
  • EGD (Technical Drawing)
  • Technical Mathematics
  • Technical Science
  • CAT (Computer Application Technology)

There are not sufficient learners who take these subjects that the classes can be presented in Afrikaans and English separately. Classes will then be too small, and the subject will then not be viable.Minimum per class must be 10.
